The upcoming new year is usually a time where we reflect upon what has happened during a whole year.
A year.
That’s a lot of time.
Time.
Time is a gift that shouldn’t be taken for granted. But we do, in so many ways.
Time is the perfect source to realize where we stand, to uncover truth, and to realize who people really are. I love how time makes things inexcusable. It allows you to accept your reality (only if you want to see it) and say—”ok, this is what it is, this is what I’m really dealing with.” Sometimes this is the only way you can take the measures that really push you forward because you are seeing things as they really are and not as you want them to be. It’s not about perspectives; it’s about seeing things as they truly are. Only in that way, real change can take place.
Every year I look forward to grow in different areas of my life as I need to. This year, God has showed me so many things. I have seen God’s faithfulness in my life, pressing thru, showing me how He is aware of everything and how He is committed to me as I am also to Him. God has showed me how to find security in Him no matter what I go thru and to cast away fear relying on Him.
This year has been very intense in revealing many things of my surroundings and relationships. Time and distance has been the perfect combination to test some of my relationships. The results were sometimes expected and some were surprising. Either way, inevitably disappointment strikes.
When I have felt this way, somehow my mind shifts to Jesus.
I need Jesus.
That’s it.
He is the onIy one I truly need.
Then I start thinking about who He is, who He wants me to be and all that He is doing in my life—the doors that He has opened, the blessings He has poured and then…it all makes sense. As I may feel disappointed when I face the reality of how things may turn out to be; I can also see how they are not convenient for me. Taking this into consideration I can absorb the changes that occur without regrets; understanding them as necessary.
God shapes your life in many ways for you to grow and to be closer to His purpose. Honest, supporting relationships that build you up instead of pressing you down. Job placements that give you the opportunity to make time for God and invest in His Kingdom. This is what we need in order to get closer to fulfill His purpose.
Where God takes me, I want to go. The net outcome of what I lose or gain along the way is the fulfillment of His purpose in me. Every single day of my life, I look forward to that.
May this year be one where you are driven closer every day to God in righteousness and toward being useful in His Kingdom.
