More than ever, this generation is emerging from a great influence of self-centeredness where gratification comes from having all eyes on us and having it our way. We like that, we feel important and apparently we need that. Our culture has seen it and they take of advantage of it. From creating accounts named MYaccount.com, customized sandwiches, your way, that’s how you want it, to showcasing our lives online and taking lot’s of SELFies. We have become attracted to being pleased and being known.

The problem is that the Me-centered lifestyle is completely antagonistic to serving God. The catch is that when you are influenced by this lifestyle you start relying more upon yourself and less in God’s truth. And the more you rely on your opinion, your intelligence, your wisdom, your way, the more you walk away from God’s.

What we don’t realize is that by then, you have become your own God and what you call God or faith in reality has become a ritual or a religion.
From the beginning of times He identified himself as the “I AM” God.

“God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ” Exodus 3:14

So when I go out or, not even go out, but just open my computer, do daily errands, read the news, see what people do with social media, or even see the church fall into that culture; I become weary and desperate for the God “I AM”.
While the world tries to glorify a Me, Me, Me God (ourselves), My God’s name is “I AM”.
I have known the true Gospel and the power of the great I AM. I don’t want my heart to be contaminated by the selfishness of this world. I want my heart to remain one that entirely glorifies and belongs to God and this is what “I AM” reminds me:
It is not you who needs to be exalted; “I AM”. “For you, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods” Psalms 97:9

It is not you who has control; “I AM”. “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17

It is not your way, your truth or your life; “I AM”. “I am the way, the truth and the life” John 14:6In contrast to a Me-centered world, Our God encourages us to set our eyes in Him and think of others before ourselves. (Hebrews 12:2)

“Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3
If I appreciate others, then I worship “I AM” and not myself.
If I obey and follow God’s word before my own feelings, opinions and understanding, then I worship “I AM” and not myself.
That is who “I AM” is.
